William Peter Johnson was born in 1767 in Governor's Harbour Eleuthera, Bahamas. William Peter was married twice. First wife was Mary Petty and second wife was Lavinia Longley, they were married 2/2/1803 in Nassau, Bahamas. They had (5) children:

• William John Petty Johnson
• Joseph Sears 
• William Henry Lavinia Johnson
• Thomas Robert Longley Johnson

***This entire family inherited land and slaves in Eleuthera. The slaves adopted their former masters names. In the 1780s after the American Revolutionary war, many British loyalists resettled in the Bahamas.
